Chairman's Announcement - RDM & Replacement Director of Rugby Appointments

One behalf of the CFC Board, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the new Rugby Development Manager for the Christchurch Football Club (CFC) will be Steph Te Ohaere-Fox.

Steph has been an extremely proud CFC player since 2004 and played an integral part in the success of the CFC Women’s team over that time.  Steph has also played well over 100 games for Canterbury, still featuring in the 2022 FPC team and was a Black Fern from 2008 – 2017.  Suffice to say Steph sees this as a natural progression and is really excited and very proud to take this role on. She will be focusing on  player development at all levels, coaching recruitment, retention and evolving our club to meet with the ever changing rugby environment. She is well known and respected in the playing community and local rugby circles.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Steph to our club management team and we look forward to everyone’s full support when she starts of the 15 August.

I am also very pleased to announce that Hunter Johnston will become the Director of Rugby on the Board to replace Tony Hussey.

This appointment is also extremely important as Hunter will work very closely with Steph to focus on developing short and long term strategies to take our Club to the next level.

They will also be looking at further support by formation of a Rugby Sub Committee with interested members from our club to focus all things rugby, which includes men’s, woman’s and junior rugby.

As a result of this change, the Club will be looking for new a Senior and Junior Club Captain - due to the importance of the Director of Rugby role and the focus being provided by Hunter in supporting Steph as RDM.

Job Descriptions for these extremely important voluntary positions, will be circulated in due course.

Viv de Beus

Chairman
