TIM PERRY

Tough, brawny loosehead prop Tim Perry was born in the South Canterbury town of Ashburton and raised on the family farm.

The working shepherd first came to attention in the New Zealand Schools side in 2006, Under 19s and then Mid Canterbury in New Zealand’s Heartland Championship competition. In 2010 he was nominated for the Heartland Player of the Year award.

Perry furthered his rugby career with a move to the Tasman Makos in 2012 and impressed rugby followers there making the number one jersey his own. He played his 50th game for the province last season.

The 29 year old made his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2013 before heading to the Crusaders the following season to hone his craft alongside All Blacks props Owen Franks, Wyatt Crockett and Joe Moody. He ended up playing 10 times in his first Super season.
